The project with the working title - "I REMEMBER" will be created during residency at different places in Europe during 2012 and early 2013. Some of the sites that will be included in the project is Montpellier, Leeds, Antwerp and Copenhagen. The work will culminate in a performance which premieres in 2013. One of the defining elements of the work will be memories ...
- A memory from when you were little or teenager... - Where values are created... - A bad memory ... - A good memory ... What is real? Why you felt it so? Is it the environment or social structure? How is memory affected the self-esteem and self-confidence? Or has “it” affected how you remember? ...
The project of Working name "I REMEMBER" is a continuation of the international cooperation that was initiated by the project (AVGRÄNSAT) BOUNDARIES.
BOUNDARIES was produced in co- production with Folkteatern in Gothenburg 2011. In 2012 BOUNDARIES toured in Sweden, England and Germany. VARGTIMMA
After the premiere of West Side Story, he created a new work for Folkteatern in Gothernburg- VARGTIMMA (Hour of the Wolf). -
A magical performance, inspired by the classic folk tales, for children 5-9 years, where the choreographer Peter Svenzon, together
with Folkteatern, creates a visual and physical performance filled with fairy tale characters, motion, lighting effects, animation, magic, music and video art.
In the tale, a staircase that just went up suddenly go down, a door disappearing into the wall, the nastiest may be the most timid and injustice can be transformed into justice.
Concept, choreography and directed by Peter Svenzon
Set design: Robert W. Ljung
Lighting and video: Ludde Falk
Mask: Lars Carlsson
Starring: Anders Granell, Elisabeth Göransson and Lena Birgitta Nilsson.
www.folkteatern.se BOUNDARIESDefined. Outside. Beyond. Trapped. On the other side.
Peter
Svenzon has for Art Of Spectra created an exciting and dynamic new creation
with an international cast. In an atmosphere inspired by the worlds of David
Lynch, he examinesgeneral human issues in this physical, expressive and
uploaded performance. The multi cultural background of the dancers bringing
different experience of boundaries and environments has influenced the creation
of Boundaries. This is Art of Spectras first international offering. Peter
Svenzon has choroeographed and in collaboration with composer and DJ Sharooz
Raoofi (GB/IR/IRN), written the soundtrack. The performance is based on both
the choreographers and the dancers experiences of the invasion and the handling
of crossing personal and private boundaries. What happens when you feel invaded
and react to late? What happens when you find yourself having gone to far and
actually having hurt another persons privacy concerning his/hers body or
personality.
-
The choreography, as always with Svenzons work, is physical, demanding and
violent.
- It demands dancers with hypersensitivity
to timing and clearphrasing…
…with
the women lifting, throwing and carrying and the men gentle in an embrace there
are no traditional gender roles here.
-
The choreography is indeed demarcated and strong.
